Woman of the Year • An individual currently resident in the Division of Swan. • Demonstrates significant contribution to the community, above and beyond employment and/or student duties. • An inspirational role model for the Swan community. • The individual’s contributions have evidence of significant impact on the Swan community. Senior Woman of the Year • An individual aged 60+ as of 8 March 2024 and currently resident in the Division of Swan. • An individual currently resident in the Division of Swan. • Demonstrates significant contribution to the community, above and beyond employment and/or student duties. • An inspirational role model for the Swan community. • The individual’s contributions have evidence of significant impact on the Swan community. Young Woman of the Year • An individual aged 21 or under as of 8 March 2024 and currently resident in the Division of Swan. • Demonstrates significant contribution to the community, above and beyond employment and/or student duties. • An inspirational role model for the Swan community. • The individual’s contributions have evidence of significant impact on the Swan community. Scientist of the Year • An individual currently resident in the Division of Swan. • A volunteer, employee, employer, educator, student and/or researcher in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics) field. • Contribution in her relevant field, and how has the nominee put back into her field to support others. • Future goals and likely impact. • Degree of difficulty of the achievement and sacrifices made. Women’s Sport Award • An individual currently resident in the Division of Swan, or; A team (group) that is based, incorporated and/or plays within the Division of Swan • An individual or team who participates in local organised community sport competition as an athlete, coach and/or match official. • Demonstrates significant contributions to the Swan community by fostering inclusion, participation and a sense of belonging for local people. • Sporting excellence and achievement will be taken into account. Social Cohesion Award • Open to individuals, groups, teams and organisations who have developed or are developing a project which addresses pressing social issues. • An individual currently resident in the Division of Swan, or; A group, team or organisation that is based and/or conducts the majority of their activities within the Division of Swan • The project may be at any stage of implementation (early – advanced). • The project has demonstrated – or is very likely to result in – outstanding contribution to social cohesion based on its: a) Impact b) Sustainability c) Innovation d) Replicability To ensure the Swan IWD Awards are representative of our diverse Swan community, consideration may be given to: • Age • Cultural and/or linguistic background • Field of endeavour • Socioeconomic status • Location Click the Key Information button below to download this information.
